Types of visas for foreigners who are married to Vietnamese people.

Foreigners married to Vietnamese people are entitled to the following types of Vietnamese visas to live and reside in Vietnam:

  1. Visit visa (symbol: TT,), short-term, or with a maximum term of 01 year.
  2. Visa exemption certificate is valid for a maximum of 5 years, each entry is exempted from visa for 6 months.
  3. Temporary residence card has a maximum validity of no more than 5 years.
  4. Permanent residence card.

All types of visas and temporary and permanent residence cards above can be extended and renewed upon expiration.

Regarding documents, foreigners applying for different types of visas need to prepare

– Marriage registration certificate or Marriage note;

– Original passport still valid according to regulations;

– Citizen identification card, household registration of spouse who is a Vietnamese citizen;

– Declaration forms according to regulations for each type of visa the foreigner wishes to apply for.
