There are 2 types of Indian visas, evisa and visa stamped on the passport. Along with many different purposes, the profiles are also different. However, basically you still have to prepare some of the following documents:
- Documents proving identity
Proof of identity is a mandatory procedure when you want to apply for a visa to India. The documents you provide will help you receive the best support from the Indian government if you encounter problems while traveling here.
Identity proof documents include:
– Visa application form
– 2 portrait photos no more than 3 months old, size 5x5cm, white background, hair swept up, clearly visible face and ears, no glasses.
– Passport valid for at least 6 months and has blank pages for visa stamp (If you have an old passport, it must be submitted with the application)
– Certified copies of household registration book, citizen identification card, and birth certificate.
- Documents proving occupation
A stable career with a good salary is essential to ensure you will return to Vietnam after your trip ends. Depending on your job, you will need to provide different types of proof. Below is specific information:
– Employees: Position allocation paper or labor contract, most recent 3-month payroll (confirmed by the company), application for leave to travel.
– Business owner: Business registration certificate, more than tax payment application in the last 3 months, company account balance (confirmed by bank).
– Pupils/students: student card/student card, letter of permission to leave school to travel to India approved by the school.
– Retired people: Retirement card, pension book, pension book (with local confirmation).
- Financial documents
– Savings book statement with at least 4,000 USD and must be sent at least 3 months before the application date.
-Other types of property ownership documents such as bonds, stocks, land use rights documents, car documents, etc. (if any).
- Trip itinerary documents
To prove that you are entering India to travel legally and have a plan in advance, you need to prepare the following documents:
– Detailed travel itinerary in India (where to go, where to stay, what to eat, how long,…)
– Confirmation of hotel booking in India
