Criminal record in application for a work permit
In an application for a work permit, a criminal record is one of the most important documents.
Criminal records confirm the moral character of foreign workers. It is a document certifying that the foreign worker is not a person who is serving a sentence or has not had a criminal record erased or is being prosecuted for criminal liability in a foreign country or Vietnam.
Judicial records are valid for no more than 06 months, from the date of issue to the date of submission.
Criminal records are issued at foreign judicial agencies or the Department of Justice of the province or city where the foreigner is residing in Vietnam.
Therefore, foreigners can choose to apply for a criminal record abroad or in Vietnam once they enter Vietnam.
If a foreigner has a criminal record issued abroad, it must be legalized by the Vietnamese consulate to be able to use it in Vietnam.
Step 1: Apply for a criminal record at the judicial agency in your country of nationality or the country in which you reside
Step 2: Contact the foreign diplomatic agency to complete consular certification procedures
Step 3: Contact the Vietnamese Embassy in that country to carry out consular legalization procedures
Step 4: Bring documents back to Vietnam to translate into Vietnamese and copy the originals.
If you make a criminal record in Vietnam, you can use it as an application for a work permit, without having to do the 4 steps above. Working in Vietnam will save more money and time.
